Upon Widerström joining the group, Interim CEO Jonathan Mendelsohn will revert back to his original role as Non-Executive Chair, alongside a new position in 888’s nominations Committee, the company stated.
Widerström has more than 17 years of experience in the iGaming industry, having most recently held the position of CEO at Fortuna Entertainment Group from 2014-2022.
Prior to that, Per held a variety of senior roles across leading iGaming companies from 2006 onwards. The operator's new CEO will take home a £676,000 (US$822,000) annual salary.
Last month, 888 announced changes to its Board Committees with immediate effect, as well as highlighting a new partnership with Reevo.
The company reported its H1 results in August, which recorded revenue of £881.6m. Third-quarter results will be published on Wednesday, 18 October.
