Betfred has unveiled its first-ever Christmas advert, marking the launch of a £5m ($6.2m) festive draw.

The campaign aims to potentially make five online customers millionaires if snow falls in London on Christmas Day.

Joanne Whittaker, Betfred's Chief Executive, stated: “With all the brilliant sport at Christmas, we wanted to add some extra excitement for our customers! Our team came up with the idea of our biggest-ever giveaway, which then prompted our first-ever Christmas advert. Fingers crossed it will snow, and we’ll be paying out £5m pounds split between five lucky customers.”

Betfred collaborates with Zút, a Creative & Production agency, to roll out the 'Let It Snow' campaign across television, radio and social media platforms.

Matt Thompson, Zút's Creative Director, explained: “Our campaign re-created a selection of recognisable seasonal and sporting scenes, shot on location, featuring colourful costumes and sets and a soundtrack everyone will love. This was a collective effort.”

Customers interested in participating can opt-in via www.betfred.com, gaining free entry by opting in and subsequently earning additional entries for every £1 bet placed on sportsbook, lotto draws, or virtual betting, up to a maximum of 100 entries.

The draw's outcome hinges on the presence of snow at London Heathrow Airport Weather Station at 09:00 on Christmas morning, subject to verification by WeatherNet, a UK independent weather analytics company.

This Christmas draw initiative stands alongside Betfred's recent developments, including the launch of insights.betfred.com, an insights hub designed to inform customers about the brand's products, services and promotions, coupled with responsible gambling tools and educational content.

Additionally, Betfred secured a partnership with Sports Information Services (SIS) to offer round-the-clock greyhound racing content in an attempt to improve the betting experience for its customers.
