The Responsible Gambling Affiliate Association (RGAA) has brought on its first executive, George Rover. Rover has had previous experience with bodies including the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, the Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE), where he held several senior positions.

Specifically during his time with the NJDGE, Rover oversaw bureaus including the Service Industry Licensing Bureau, Casino Prosecutions Bureau, Internet Gaming Bureau and Technical Services Bureau. He directed the launching of Internet Gaming in the Garden State, while also overseeing various investigations and prosecutions.

He also worked with the non-profit organisation, Sports Wagering Integrity Monitoring Association (SWIMA), following his retirement from government work. SWIMA’s focus is on the discouragement and detection of illegal betting or sports event activities.

Princeton Global Strategies, Rover’s strategic gaming advisory company, will continue his work in aiding the gaming industry.

The RGAA is made up of six major companies in the US affiliate sector, including Catena Media, FairPlay Sports Media and XLMedia. In his role, Rover will be responsible for overseeing the RGAA’s overarching goal of safeguarding responsible gambling marketing and advertising. He will advocate for the interests of the RGAA, promoting ‘sensible’ regulation and collaboration between stakeholders and the industry.

On his appointment, RGAA Chair Katie McCord said: “We are thrilled to welcome George Rover to the RGAA family. His unparalleled expertise, spanning decades in casino and sports betting law, will undoubtedly elevate our organisation. George's substantial contributions to the industry, including spearheading initiatives like SWIMA, showcase his commitment to integrity and innovation."
