EFL League One football team Bristol Rovers has announced that it is supporting the NHS Gambling campaign called ‘Crossed The Line.’

The ‘Crossed the Line’ campaign is led by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, to raise awareness of its Gambling Service, which was launched across the South West last year.

The aim of the campaign is to reduce the stigma surrounding gambling harm and encourage more people to get the help they need.

Originally launched in Bristol last year, the South West Gambling Service has now expanded to support anyone aged 18 and over living in the South West. The support offered by the service includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, group sessions and virtual sessions over the telephone.

South West Gambling Service Clinical Lead Chris Gillmore said: “The impacts of harmful gambling are widespread, affecting people’s relationships and health. Figures demonstrate this is a growing issue and we will work to protect people from the damaging impacts of harmful gambling.”

In 2024, other corporate social responsibility news related to football has included Middlesbrough FC’s sponsor, Kindred Group, donating its front-of-short space for a match day in January to the MFC Foundation, replacing the usual Unibet branding.

More recently, the Sky Bet EFL Building Foundations Fund last week announced an injection of £600,000 ($758,325) in funding allocated through grants for communities throughout England and Wales to support a variety of projects.
