5 Games have reached a "definitive agreement" to acquire the high-performance mobile game provider Electrotank in a bid to improve their mobile functionality.

The land-based, online, social and mobile gaming company own High 5 Casino, the highest rated social casino on Facebook, which boasts over 1.3 million players. They believe the acquisition will help the company to "aggressively pursue potential new ventures and rapidly expand into untapped markets" according to COO Med Nadooshan.

The agreement sees the transfer of Electrotank assets and intellectual property as well as staff.

Electrotank have previously provided games for the likes of Disney, MTV, Nickelodeon, Mattel and Comedy Central, and claim their ElectroServer is the most robust real-time multiplayer networking engine for Flash, Unity 3, iPhone, Android, XNA and HTML5.

Electrotank CEO Michael Gold said: “This is a wonderful opportunity, and I’m excited to see what the two companies can do together.”

High 5 Games’ CEO Anthony Singer said: “We are overjoyed to bring in the many talented individuals from Electrotank. This move will allow us to strengthen and finalise our upcoming Game Server Platform, which will allow our content to be real-time streamed to both regulated real-money gaming sites as well as social casino sites throughout the world.”
