owing some high profile media negativity, responsible gambling has become a renewed focus for the industry and the latest company to take action is the Stockholm-based Kindred Group Plc. The Nasdaq-listed online gaming group has announced it has funded the development of a public and free of charge ‘Gambling Therapy app’.

Kindred Group has collaborated with Gordon Moody Association to release a free gambling therapy app targeted at problem gamblers.

Initially, the Gambling Therapy app will be only available in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark) and it will alert consumers of problem gambling symptoms as well as providing therapeutic exercises and support for people who are struggling with their gambling patterns

Pedro Romero, Head of Gambling Therapy, said prior to the release: “We are delighted with Kindred’s support to further develop the Gambling Therapy App, which will further help thousands of people struggling with their gambling. It is widely recognised within the industry that Kindred Group is a leader in player protection. This is thanks to the company’s commitment, its engagement and their Responsible Gambling team.”

Integrity Analytics Manager Mario Bonello added: “We are very happy to be able to support the development of the Gambling Therapy app. Providing a safe and secure environment for our customers is at the very heart of Kindred, which is why we continue to support initiatives that can minimise the harm caused by gambling.”
