New York Jets name MGM Resorts International as official gaming partner

The NFL's New York Jets have named MGM Resorts International as their official gaming partner.

The multi-year agreement is a “first-of-its-kind partnership” and is the “most comprehensive and integrated gaming partnership” in the NFL.

As part of the deal, the Jets will promote MGM Resorts’ resorts and Play MGM’s online and mobile platforms.

Interestingly, 888 added it is a “proud sponsor of the New York Jets” on its website earlier this week, despite making no official announcement.

NFL rules forbid the advertising of sports betting sites but, as MGM Resorts is the New York Jets’ gaming partner and not sponsor, its deal falls in line with NFL protocol.

MGM Resorts was also announced as the first league-wide sports betting partner of the NHL earlier this week.

The announcement comes a day after MGM Resorts posted its Q3 update, which showed performance that “exceeded expectations” despite a 2% year-on-year fall in domestic resort revenues to $2.2bn.

MGM Resorts Chairman & CEO Jim Murren said: “We look forward to working with the Jets to innovate gaming, increase our customer base through cross marketing opportunities and provide NFL fans with a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience."

New York Jets President Neil Glat said: “We are proud to partner with an iconic brand like MGM Resorts. This unique partnership also enables us to further engage our fans in the mobile and digital world."
