A report from Macau's Statistics and Census Service has shown the island’s rate of growth is at its lowest point for more than two years, with exports of gaming services rising by 5.8% year-on-year during the third quarter.

By comparison, in the second quarter of this year, exports of gaming services grew by 13%, according to official data.

A statement from the statistics bureau said: "The economy grew at a slower pace, mainly due to a continuous decline in construction investment and a notable slowdown in growth of exports of services."

Gross gaming revenue (GGR) from games of fortune for October was MOP27m, a 2% rise in year-on-year figures.

The year so far has seen an accumulated GGR of MOP251m, an increase of 14%.
