Delaware sports betting revenue 34% down month-on-month for May

Sports betting revenue in Delaware fell 34% month-on-month for May, totalling $406,293.

Overall handle fell slightly but remained more or less consistent with April, at $5.9m, in the last month before year-on-year comparisons will become available.

The total amount of wagers was down 13% from April to 133,607, 84,982 of which were accepted at Delaware Park.

Delaware Park generated $252,067 in revenue from handle of $3.6m, while Dover Downs generated $101,444 from 32,465 wagers and handle of $2.5m.

Harrington Raceway made $52,782 from handle of $768,048, the result of 16,160 wagers.

For the calendar-year-to-date, Delaware has made $4.1m worth of sports betting revenue from handle of $42.9m.

The amount of sports wagers placed within the state is set to reach a million in June, tallying 953,527 so far.

Delaware certainly isn’t matching the heights of New Jersey yet, although its population sits at less than one million, with only three sports betting venues available.
