With gambling activity booming in the state, $236m in casino win contributed to the majority of revenue – up 14%.
Internet gaming win rose a significant 68% to $38.1m, which likely benefited from sportsbook cross-sell opportunities which did not exist in the year prior.
Sports wagering gross revenue itself was $9.7m from total handle of $273.2m.
For May, New Jersey’s sportsbooks outperformed those of Nevada, so it will be interesting to see if the feat can be repeated in consecutive months when Nevada’s June results are released.

For the year-to-date, New Jersey's total gaming revenue is now at $1.59bn including June, a 26% increase.
Year-to-date casino win is 13% up, at $1.26bn, with internet gaming win up 56% at $217.5m and sports wagering revenue totaling $109.6m so far.
