Parimatch Tech provides UAH 60m to support Ukraine

Parimatch Tech has donated UAH 60m ($2m) to Ukraine, doubling its financial aid to the war-torn country.

Following Russia’s invasion on 24 February, Parimatch has, like many companies, offered humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict.

But the provider has perhaps gone further than most by also procuring military equipment for Ukraine’s defenders.

Thus far, Parimatch has spent the first UAH 42m. UAH 39m has gone towards ammunition, while the remaining UAH 3m was used for medicine, clothing, foodstuffs and logistics.

The next UAH 18m, the company said, will be spent on humanitarian aid, as well as “the needs of the country’s defenders,” which include binoculars, body armour, drones, helmets, thermal imagers and night vision devices.

Parimatch maintains a significant presence in Ukraine, including an office in Kyiv. Consequently, Russia’s invasion will likely have taken a heavy toll on the company’s employees.

Nevertheless, the provider said its staff are participating in volunteer activities: purchasing goods and medicine, cooking meals for Ukraine’s defenders and refugees and delivering food and drugs to those in need.

Some, Parimatch added, are even serving in Ukraine’s armed forces, territorial defence forces and cyber forces.

The company has further organised warehouses in Kyiv where volunteers can coordinate humanitarian aid efforts, and has donated “a significant part” of its office equipment to Ukraine’s territorial defence forces, including printers, laptops, monitors, network equipment and modems.

Parimatch’s Chief Talent Officer Tatiana Davydova said: “Despite the difficult times for the country and the business, Parimatch Tech did not withdraw any offers, and specialists who were terminating cooperation were offered to stay and receive a salary.

“The company paid in full all compensation to the teams. In addition, each employee can request emergency financial aid.”

Parimatch Ukraine, a Parimatch Tech partner, last year became the first licensed online betting company in the Eastern European country.
