The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has cancelled the authorisation of AMGO iGaming Malta. The decision, effective from 6 December, will require the company to notify its players of the cancellation via email and the company website.
Alongside the notification, AMGO iGaming Malta must include instructions on how players can withdraw funds from its platform, with guidance and assistance available to players throughout the process.
Upon requesting a withdrawal of funds, the MGA has stated that AMGO iGaming Malta must: ‘endeavour to remit all player funds standing to the credit of such players by not later than five (5) working days from the date upon which a player makes a request to this effect.’
Moreover, the company must also attempt to remit funds to all players, including those who have not made a request. All pending player disputes must also be settled.
This is not the first time AMGO iGaming Malta has had its operations halted by the MGA. In October, the MGA cancelled AMGO iGaming Malta's licence, citing three separate breaches of Maltese gaming regulations by the company. This included failure to pay its licensing fee for the November 2022 – November 2023 period and a failure to pay its applicable compliance contribution fees to the Authority.
The company operates several gaming brands globally and in 2019 purchased EveryMatrix’s B2C brand Jetbull for €2m ($2.2m).
The notice given by the MGA gives no set date as to when AMGO iGaming Malta must complete these actions and return player funds. However, it is likely the company will need to act with haste to avoid further action being taken against them.
