Jackpot.com has launched in Massachusetts.

The lottery app is designed to allow customers to buy official state lottery tickets through their phones in a secure system.

As well as storing tickets, players can also collect the winnings directly through their phones, up to a certain limit.

The Jackpot.com app will offer a range of official tickets, including Powerball, Mega Millions, Mass Cash and Lucky for Life, with more expected in the future.

Players will also be able to access the Jackpot.com platform through desktop or tablets through its multi-channel capabilities.

Akshay Khanna, Jackpot.com CEO & Co-Founder, said: “We’re excited to bring Jackpot.com to Massachusetts and offer customers a better experience to get in on the fun and try their luck on a winning ticket.

“Every year, billions of dollars from the lottery go unclaimed due to lost tickets or otherwise.

“When you play the lottery with Jackpot.com on your phone, tablet, or computer, there's no missing out on jackpots and your winnings are instantly transferred to you.”

This marks the fourth US jurisdiction that Jackpot.com has launched in, with the others being Texas, Ohio and New York.

The app also comes with responsible gambling measures to support players.

This includes the option to set limits on daily deposits, self-exclusion, self-suspension and signposts to local and national responsible gambling resources.

If potential problematic behaviour is detected from players, the app will automatically send out notifications and offer resources.

In its most recent revenue report, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission announced that total taxable gaming revenue for the month was $143m, which equated to $36.1m in taxes for the state.
