Fanatics Betting and Gaming has partnered with Carolina Hurricanes.
The online sports platform, which is a subsidiary of Fanatics Holdings, will become the team’s Official Sports Betting Partner ahead of regulated online sports wagering in the North Carolina state.
The regulators have had a busy winter period sorting out the potential launch dates, with the current schedule saying March 2024 for online sports betting.
This came after State Governor Roy Cooper stated that they were aiming to push it live in time for the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament.
Don Waddell, Hurricanes President and GM, said: "The Hurricanes are thrilled to welcome Fanatics as our Official Sports Betting Partner.
"Fanatics Sportsbook will bring a user-friendly experience for North Carolinians to wager on sports responsibly, and we're proud to partner with them on this endeavour."
In addition to the online apps and platforms, fans in North Carolina will be able to visit the retail sportsbook at the PNC Arena.
As Official Sports Betting Partner, Fanatics Betting and Gaming will have brand exposure around the Arena, including in-arena signage and broadcast integrations.
Ari Borod, Fanatics Betting and Gaming Chief Business Officer, said: “We are excited to have the Carolina Hurricanes as our market access partner in North Carolina.
“We are working with one of the most talented professional sports organisations that knows how to grow a sports business by putting a competitive product out on the ice.
“We look forward to partnering with the organisation to bring sports fans in North Carolina a sports betting product that meets the expectations of such a passionate fanbase.”
Fanatics Betting and Gaming isn't the only operator with its eyes set on the state though, as DraftKings signed an agreement with NASCAR for access to the state less than a week ago.
