Chris Welch, LeoVegas Group CCO took to LinkedIn to announce BetMGM UK's excitement for its inaugural appearance at Cheltenham Festival.
However, leading up to the event, BetMGM UK users faced technical difficulties with accessing the platform and encountering transaction delays.
Despite assurances from BetMGM UK that all bets and transactions would be honoured, the issues caused frustration among customers.
Nevertheless, BetMGM UK recovered from these technical challenges. Following this, Welch went on to celebrate the company's success in topping the UK charts for iPhone free sports apps.
Welch said: “On the eve of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, we wanted to pay tribute to all the team at LeoVegas who have worked tirelessly to meet the surge in demand across the festival and support our many new players. We are new and we won't get everything right, but we will learn and continue to challenge in this super competitive market. Can't wait to see our branding in person as we sponsor our first Cheltenham Race tomorrow.”
Earlier this month, BetMGM partnered with the Jockey Club to sponsor the County Hurdle on Gold Cup Day at Cheltenham Festival.
Backed by MGM Resorts, the company has secured partnerships with LeoVegas and celebrity figures like Chris Rock, an ambassador of BetMGM.
