The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has announced the cancellation of the authorisation for Rush Gaming, identified by reference number MGA/B2C/701/2019.

Effective as of 11 March 2024, this decision is in accordance with regulations 9(1)(c) and 10(1)(a) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations.

As a result of this cancellation, Rush Gaming has been directed to take specific actions within seven days from the effective date.

Firstly, they must notify all affected players via email. Additionally, they are required to settle any outstanding fees owed to the Malta Gaming Authority.

Finally, Rush Gaming must promptly remove any reference to the MGA and the authorisation in accordance with Article 51 of the Gaming Act (Chapter 583 of the Laws of Malta).

Rush Gaming still has the right to appeal this decision under Article 43(1) of the Act.

This announcement comes after the MGA suspended authorisation for Rush Gaming in January earlier this year – a decision which meant Rush Gaming was required to refund all players in accordance with Maltese law.

Though this left the company unable to carry out gaming operations, Rush Gaming was required to continue to allow players access to their accounts to facilitate the refund process.

Charles Mizzi was appointed to the role of MGA CEO, assuming the role in late January.
